Circular Quay Circular Quay is the heart of Sydney Harbour - the terminal for all the harbour ferries and water taxis that constantly move around the harbour. A promenade runs the full length of the Quay following the curve of the small bay starting at the historic Rocks area nestled in the shadow of the Harbour Bridge and finishing at the Opera House and the entrance to the Botanic Gardens. This lady and her two small children are out enjoying the sunshine and the spectacular view as they wander along the promenade and pause to admire the flowers displayed under the flower sellers umbrella. The Rocks These old terrace houses, perched above the tall cliffs that lead down to Walsh Bay on Sydney Harbour, can be found on Lower Fort Street in Sydney's historic Rocks area. The late afternoon sun is highlighting the warm sandstone cliffs and catching the wooden hulls of the fishing boats that are sheltering in the calm waters around the old finger wharves of Walsh Bay. Sydney Harbour Yellow and green ferry boat are a familiar sight on Sydney Harbour and have been used by Sydney-siders to travel from one side of the harbour to the other for nearly 100 years. This ferry has traveled from picturesque Mosman Bay on Sydney's north shore and is seen approaching the wharf at Sydney Harbour carrying passengers bound for work in the CBD. The early morning mist that had earlier covered the Harbour has started to lift, revealing the outline of the Harbour Bridge in the background while the sun's winter rays are seen reflected in the ripples of water created by the approaching ferry. Martin place Martin Place stretches from George Street to Macquarie Street crossing through the centre of the Sydney Business District. The Autumn colours of the city are seen here reflected in pavements that have been left wet by a recent shower while the misty Autumn light filtering through the clouds creats a soft background for the colourful flower barrows that are found alongside the old buildings that line the streets of Martin Place.
