I spend a portion of each year away from my studio and easel researching new subjects – a process that I find is just as important as putting paint to canvas. To do this, I like to spend a period of time in a place, usually walking for many hours a day, observing the rhythms of everyday life at different times of the day and getting to know my subject. It is then that I return to the studio with my many sketches and notes to transfer my impressions onto canvas.

There are always paintings on exhibit at my studio – ranging in size from small studies to major works – I am currently working on a collection of paintings depicting scenes from a painting trip to Paris in April of last year and I am continually painting scenes of Sydney and the surrounding harbour area. The studio is open for public viewing most Saturdays 10am to 2 pm – please ring ahead to confirm that I will be here – or ring to arrange a more convenient time to visit the studio – I am always happy to show my new works.
